George Washington hooked in wool on dusty blue — heavy brows, long nose, an expression between solemn and mildly alarmed. Folk-naive on purpose. The cherry sprig embroidered at the left is the cherry tree from the story, which a biographer made up after Washington died. Tim Campbell, who also drew the Lincoln. 18 x 18 in, insert included.

Lincoln in the stovepipe hat, hooked in wool against a blue sky and olive hills — a small flag at one side, a little house at the other. Folk-naive, same hand as the Washington; Tim Campbell drew both. 16 x 22 in lumbar, insert included.

Three tomatoes on the vine hooked in wool against a warm ochre ground — gold, not cream, which makes it read late-summer rather than spring. 6 x 12 in mini lumbar, insert included.

A dragonfly across the whole square on sage green — magenta wings with pale leaves inside them, banded cream body, teal foliage and small blooms around it. Sister to the Folk Ladybug. 16 x 16 in, insert included.

A blue flowering stem embroidered over a printed green-and-white stripe, with blue and green tassels at all four corners. Cotton canvas, down-alt fill, insert included. 18 x 18 in. Spot clean only — it can't go in the wash.

Three mussels in two blues on an oatmeal wool ground, loops left uncut so it has the texture of a hooked rug. Designed by Kate Nelligan. Insert included. 12 x 8 in — a small lumbar, not a sofa cushion.
