Vegetable wax in a lidded lab-style porcelain pot, 50ml, four scents. Arrives wrapped in printed paper and tied with string, with the scent stamped on the base. When the wax is gone the pot is a trinket box — which is most of the reason to buy it.

Heat-resistant glass with a tiered base, so a stack nests into itself instead of eating a shelf. Deep nests furthest and has the rounded handle; shallow is taller with a squared one. Microwave fine, dishwasher not — and don't shock it with a sudden temperature change.

Hand-woven from recycled plastic with aluminium handles. Two colourways — orange and pink, or green and pink — in three shapes. The weave has irregularities; that's what hand-woven means. Keep it out of long sun.

Soy wax poured into a sardine tin — peel the lid back and the fish are wax, over a hand-illustrated scene. Five scents, from citrus to oakmoss and leather. About 25 hours. The tin gets genuinely hot; keep it on a coaster.
